Rosedale, as you say, is especially nice.nothingbutfootprintsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2850508119819328426.post-22059699086427967802014-03-03T20:11:20.138+00:002014-03-03T20:11:20.138+00:00I've walked a good bit on and around the North...I've walked a good bit on and around the North York Moors and to be honest I'm happy to leave the open grouse-moors well alone. I find them to be mono-culture deserts, heavily managed and artificial. By contrast the dales between, Upper Ryedale, Bransdale, Rosedale, Newtondale and (my absolute favourite) Fylingdale (not to mention Eskdale, Danby Dale and the other northern dales), are the real gems. The walk around Rosedale on the old ironstone railway bed is a great walk (with the Lion Inn about half-way around); Bransdale is so quiet, and Fylingdale, below the Whitby-Scarborough road is just gorgeous, with the great sweep of the hillsides, the fantastic little lanes, the disused railbed and the stunning coast. The Old Man of the Northhttps://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Old-Man-of-the-North/485586794884685?ref=hl#!/pages/The-Old-Man-of-the-North/485586794884685noreply@blogger.com
